About the event

*Admission fee £4 per head, children under 5 are free*

In addition to our regular events and stalls, this year's Mela will include a charity auction to support people displaced from Ukraine.

Make sure you don't miss the Indo-Western Fusion Fashion Show, on the theme of integration and peace.

We welcome you to support and enjoy a spectacular array of cultural events, ranging from experienced dancers to children’s performances. Have a taste of the range of Indian delicacies on sale, including vegan, vegetarian and non-vegetarian street food. This year we are also inviting other communities to showcase their food and cultural heritage at the event. We believe this multicultural approach will further enrich your experience.

Workshops allow us to create an immersive experience. The Indian Society aims to deliver high quality free workshops at the Mela for the benefit of the general community. A workshop in Yoga will help you tone your body and mind and a vegetarian/vegan cooking workshop will teach you new exciting culinary skills. Experienced teachers will deliver our dance workshops.

We invite you to visit a range of stalls carefully selected for your enjoyment. They range from fashion, arts & crafts, local traders and service stalls. Have your hands painted with henna or pick up some trendy items for your home. This year we are also introducing stalls providing financial and recruitment services.

A complimentary Mela magazine, complete with a selection of articles, traditional recipes and the best of artwork from various competitions undertaken by the Indian Society this year will be distributed from the reception desk on the day of event.
